Job Title

Cloud Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and sustain manufacturing test systems and test software for enterprise servers, storage, and networking hardware within Jabil's Enterprise and Infrastructure division.

Work spans test architecture, development, production deployment, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 5–8 years' experience in software manufacturing test development or sustaining with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and delivering test systems and software, supporting deployed test infrastructure, and maintaining documentation and cross-team alignment.

  • Design and develop manufacturing test systems, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for motherboards, memory, CPUs, storage (SSD/HDD/NVMe) and PCIe devices (NIC, GPU, mezzanine, RAID).
  • Create, validate, release, and maintain automated test software to control equipment, collect and analyze data, and produce test reports.
  • Support and sustain manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) level test software and infrastructure at production sites, including minor system configuration changes.
  • Maintain detailed test procedure, specification, and infrastructure documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality teams to meet testing requirements and quality standards.
  • Define and contribute to overall test infrastructure and application architectures.
  • Report to management and interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet manufacturing standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt improvements in testing technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

Technical skills and professional capabilities required for effective performance. "Nice-to-have" items are preferred but not mandatory.

  • Must-have: Strong scripting and programming skills in Python and Bash; C/C++ experience is a plus.
  • Linux development experience (CentOS, Ubuntu) with solid fundamentals.
  • Experience with hardware control and test tools/APIs such as IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester.
  • Experience creating and configuring VMs and related services (DHCP, PXE boot, nginx); VMware preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of enterprise datacenter networking (L1–L3), switching/routing and protocols (BGP, DHCP relay, ECMP); Arista CloudVision is a plus.
  • Experience with code versioning (Git) and professional software engineering practices across the SDLC (code reviews, build processes, testing, operations).
  • Ability to work in multi-site, multi-cultural environments; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Domestic and/or international travel up to 10% may be required.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in manufacturing test development or sustaining for enterprise server, storage, or networking products; cloud/infrastructure automation experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
