Cloud Software Development Engineer (uArch expertise) — Temporary
Role Summary
Develop, validate, and maintain cloud-scale telemetry, diagnostics, and fleet screening software used to improve server platform quality, reliability, and deployment readiness for data center customers. Work across architecture, validation, manufacturing, and customer engineering teams to deliver customer-facing fleet health and observability capabilities.
This is a fixed-term contract position (~24 months) based in Guadalajara, Mexico, requiring on-site presence.
Experience Level
Mid-level — minimum 6+ years of professional software development or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver software and tooling that improves fleet health, telemetry visibility, and customer operations.
- Design, implement, and maintain telemetry collection, diagnostics, observability, and health monitoring software.
- Develop screening and automation tools for fleet operations, validation, and deployment readiness.
- Analyze large-scale telemetry and debug data to identify defect signatures and reliability trends.
- Integrate libraries, services, and infrastructure components into existing tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to reproduce, debug, and resolve platform, firmware, and software issues.
- Perform root-cause investigations and support development of screening methodologies across validation and customer environments.
- Develop and maintain software primarily in Python and C/C++ for diagnostics and fleet workflows.
- Support customer engagements through validation, deployment, and in-fleet operations.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and constraints; preferred items listed separately.
- 6+ years of software development experience working on complex server, cloud, HPC, or distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering in Python and C/C++.
- Linux software development and debugging experience, including multithreaded environments.
- Familiarity with data structures, operating systems, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with Intel Architecture (x86) systems and system-level software interactions.
- Experience with software development practices: Agile, requirements definition, unit and regression testing.
- Strong hardware/software debug, validation, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available for this role).
Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- x86 assembly language development and debugging experience.
- Knowledge of Intel Xeon/un-core architecture and platform telemetry concepts.
- Experience with Linux internals, drivers, runtime environments, and telemetry analytics.
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins) and cloud-native tech (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure).
- Experience working directly with enterprise or hyperscale cloud customers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. Equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
