Role Summary

Design, automate and operate cloud infrastructure and reference architectures to run high-performance computing (HPC) and electronic design automation (EDA) workloads across public, private and hybrid clouds. Work as part of a founding software team in Shannon to build secure, scalable, performant multi-cloud solutions and tooling.

Responsibilities

Deliver infrastructure design, automation and evaluation for multi-cloud HPC/EDA workloads.

• Review and contribute to cloud infrastructure architectures from Azure, AWS and Google to support EDA workloads.
• Develop and automate reference architectures for customer self-managed clouds and Siemens-managed offerings.
• Enable multi-cloud resource orchestration from the Siemens PaaS.
• Champion secure, performant, large-scale infrastructure and application practices.
• Implement proofs-of-concept (POCs) and performance comparison testing of cloud servers and architectures.
• Work in an agile/scrum team and support DevOps tooling for Cloud SaaS solutions.
• Partner with internal teams to socialize and support cloud infrastructure needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience architecting and operating large-scale cloud platforms in production (public, private, hybrid).
• Strong automation focus: Infrastructure as Code and scripting for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with container orchestration and container-based deployments.
• Practical programming ability in languages such as Python and/or Go for infrastructure tooling.
• Familiarity with cloud security concerns for customer-managed and internally-managed environments.
• Experience with hybrid on-premises and SaaS products, and multi-zone availability / disaster recovery concepts.
• Ability to run performance and scalability evaluations and to build repeatable test processes.
• Strong communication and ability to influence technical decisions across teams.

Education Requirements
