Job Title

Circuit Design Engineer, Power Modeling and Simulation - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Work on power modeling and simulation within the Circuits Solutions Group to improve netlist and timing quality for processor designs. The role focuses on modeling and simulating analog, digital, and power delivery networks from die to platform level and collaborating with a global circuits team.

Experience Level

Entry-level (new college graduate). No specific years of professional experience required; role targets recent graduates with relevant technical preparation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Participate in processor circuit design in deep submicron technologies.
  • Model and simulate analog and digital circuits and systems at various abstraction levels.
  • Model and simulate power delivery networks (PDN) from die level to platform level.
  • Perform detailed block-level and system-level simulations to validate reliability, performance, and stability.
  • Collaborate with a global circuits team to design power delivery and power management solutions.
  • Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

Technical must-haves and tools:

  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as ANSYS or Sigrity.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools and languages: Matlab/Simulink, Simplis, SPICE variants, Verilog-AMS, mixed-signal RTL+SPICE, s-parameters.
  • Familiarity with EDA and layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and Allegro.
  • Experience with circuit simulators such as HSpice, Spectre, PrimeSim/PrimeTime, XA, or equivalents.
  • Knowledge of power delivery network analysis and design.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience modeling and simulating complex PDNs for CPU/GPU platforms.
  • Hands-on experience simulating control loops for analog/digital circuits.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Perl, Tcl, Python, Skill) and automation methods/algorithms.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting targets new college graduates (class of 2026) and allows equivalent experience in lieu of the listed degrees.
