Chip Design Engineer

Role Summary

As a Chip Design Engineer on the Switch Silicon team in NVIDIA's Networking business unit, you will design and verify RTL blocks for high-speed switch chips. You will work in a combined design and verification team focused on delivering high throughput, low latency silicon.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 1+ years of experience in RTL design and/or dynamic verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and support of RTL and associated flows.

  • Design and verify RTL units/blocks according to architecture specifications.
  • Develop micro-architecture for RTL and plan simulation environments for modules.
  • Build reference models and perform simulation and verification of chip blocks.
  • Perform RTL synthesis, timing analysis, and support verification and post-silicon activities.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, full-chip micro-architecture, back-end, and firmware teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in RTL design and/or dynamic verification.
  • Experience with RTL synthesis, timing closure, and supporting verification flows.
  • Experience planning or working with simulation environments and reference models.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively on cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with high academic scores, or equivalent practical experience. Completion of programming and logic design courses (or equivalent coursework/experience).
