Chassis IP Senior Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Chassis IP Senior Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design RTL for component and foundation IP used to build SoC chassis within the Intel Chassis Group. Work spans interconnect IP blocks (routers, switches, arbiters), protocol conversion bridges, debug/trace components, and clock/power controls.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 7+ years of experience in logic design and RTL development.
Responsibilities
Deliver production-quality RTL and support IP integration and verification across teams.
- Develop RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), create simulations, and perform unit-level verification for IP blocks and subsystems.
- Define and implement architecture and microarchitecture for data- and control-plane elements.
- Optimize RTL for power, performance, area, and timing; perform rigorous quality checks and work with physical design to resolve timing.
- Evaluate design trade-offs across area, bandwidth, timing, reliability, security, and error handling.
- Support Sub-system/SoC customers with IP integration and verification workflows and troubleshoot integration issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Proven experience in logic design and RTL development using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Strong knowledge of digital design fundamentals: timing analysis, power optimization, and area/bandwidth trade-offs.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for design, simulation, and quality checks (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
- Experience collaborating with architecture, verification, physical design, and SoC integration teams across distributed locations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with AMBA (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB), PCIe, and CXL protocols and protocol conversion bridges.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to support logic design.
- Prior work on debug/trace, QoS, access control, flow control, RAS, or security features.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required, plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in logic design and RTL development.
