Characterization Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship within Qorvo's Advanced Cellular business group supporting RF product characterization, test development, and data analysis. The role contributes to test software and hardware development, RF measurements, and reporting to validate product performance and compliance.

Responsibilities

Typical internship responsibilities include hands-on testing, automation, and data analysis assigned based on business needs.

  • Create automated test software to control test equipment and execute test sequences.
  • Assist in design and development of test hardware for complex RF measurements.
  • Evaluate RF test equipment and support vendor/tool selection.
  • Perform RF characterization testing using spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators and digital pattern generators.
  • Process, verify and analyze measured data; produce concise reports and presentations.
  • Develop tools for data visualization, big-data analysis, lab efficiency tracking, and manufacturing metrics.

Must-have:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program (see Education Requirements for details).
  • Programming experience with Python, C#, or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills; self-starter.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to data analysis tools such as Spotfire, JMP, R, or similar.
  • Analog/RF circuit design coursework or hands-on RF experience.

Education Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program. Preferred fields: Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Minimum GPA: 3.0. (Internship program designed for college students pursuing BS, MS, or PhD.)
