Characterization Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship within Qorvo's Advanced Cellular business group supporting RF product characterization. The role focuses on developing automated test software, assisting with test hardware, executing RF measurements, and analyzing measurement data to support product compliance and performance verification.

Experience Level

Intern — college student internship for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities during the internship may include:

• Develop automated test software to control equipment and run test sequences.
• Help design and build test hardware for complex RF measurements.
• Evaluate RF test equipment and assist in vendor/tool selection.
• Perform RF characterization testing using spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, and pattern generators.
• Process, verify, and analyze measurement data; prepare concise reports and presentations.
• Develop tools for data visualization, lab efficiency tracking, and basic analytics.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for candidates.

• Experience or coursework in analog/RF circuit design preferred.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, or a similar object-oriented language.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Spotfire, JMP, R, or equivalents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical results clearly.
• Organizational skills for planning and scheduling lab work.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program (BS/MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical field. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Enrollment must be active for the internship period.
