CCRT Senior FPGA Hardware Engineer
Role Summary
Join the FPGA Workbench team to own the full lifecycle of FPGA IP modules: architecture, implementation, verification and deployment. Work closely with software and hardware engineers to deliver real-time FPGA solutions for hardware-in-the-loop and related test systems.
Location: Pompano Beach, FL. Compensation range: $115,000 to $130,000 annually plus a target 10% bonus.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 4+ years of hands-on FPGA development experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver and support FPGA IP and integration for real-time systems.
- Architect, design, implement and verify FPGA IP modules targeting Intel/Altera Arria X and Cyclone V platforms.
- Lead debugging and resolve complex hardware/software integration issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Python and Bash.
- Collaborate with software engineers on API design and FPGA-to-software integration.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation: design specifications, test plans and integration guides.
- Evaluate and adopt tools and methodologies to improve development and verification workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, citizenship, and practical experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on FPGA development experience.
- Proficiency in HDL (VHDL and/or Verilog).
- Experience with Intel/Altera toolchains (Quartus Prime, ModelSim).
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing and hardware design principles.
- Experience writing test and automation scripts in Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with FPGA-to-software interfaces and API integration.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; the company cannot sponsor visas or hire green card or dual-citizenship holders for this role.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with high-speed protocols (PCIe, Ethernet).
- Experience with aerospace/defense protocols (ARINC 429, ARINC 664, MIL-STD-1553).
- Experience with Xilinx FPGAs.
- Familiarity with embedded C/C++ used in FPGA-adjacent systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
