Career Accelerator Program - Test Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role in Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (CAP). The position rotates through or supports product, test and validation engineering activities to develop, qualify and optimize TI analog and embedded processing products for manufacturing.

Responsibilities include test software and hardware development, product debug and test optimization, and cross-functional problem solving with manufacturing and quality teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level (early-career). Role is intended for recent bachelor's degree graduates; typical experience 0–3 years.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on assuring product quality, manufacturability and performance across assigned product lines and supporting CAP learning objectives.

  • Develop and implement product, test and validation strategies to meet profitability and quality targets (new product development, cost reduction, yield improvement).
  • Design, develop and maintain test software and hardware for automated test equipment and bench setups.
  • Debug devices and resolve product, quality and application issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Verify test capability and release products to manufacturing; optimize test programs and processes.
  • Perform product characterization, qualification and reliability testing and interpret implications for production.
  • Analyze production and test data to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with wafer fabrication and assembly sites to ensure clear communication and effective problem solving.
  • Participate in formal CAP training, on-the-job learning and projects to broaden engineering skills.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Basic familiarity with test concepts and automated test equipment, and experience with hardware design concepts and software development workflows.
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams; good verbal and written communication.
  • Must-have: Ability to learn new systems quickly and manage time to meet project deadlines.
  • Nice-to-have: Programming skills in C/C++ or LabView and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, digital components and analog circuitry (op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. A cumulative GPA of approximately 3.0/4.0 or higher is listed as a minimum requirement.
