Career Accelerator Program - Test Engineer

Role Summary

This is an entry-level Test Engineer role within Texas Instruments' 12-month Career Accelerator Program (CAP) for new college graduates in the TMG organization. The role focuses on developing and implementing cost-effective test methods, test programs, and test hardware to support IC characterization, qualification and production release.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and validating test solutions for IC products:

  • Collaborate with design teams to understand device specifications and define test requirements.
  • Generate test plans and create characterization/test programs for ATE.
  • Design ATE hardware interface boards and qualification hardware.
  • Debug and characterize silicon on ATE and correlate with bench results.
  • Analyze silicon data, support failure analysis and design validation activities.
  • Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout; debug yield issues and optimize test time.
  • Work with production to release products to volume production and improve test robustness.
  • Drive cost-effective test strategies while maintaining product quality.

Requirements

Core expectations and desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Entry-level candidate suited for a structured 12-month development program; ability to perform hands-on lab and test activities; strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams and meet project timelines.
  • Nice-to-have / Preferred: ATE experience (Teradyne Eagle or equivalent such as iFlex, LTX, VLCT); experience in characterization and production test program and hardware development; familiarity with analog test techniques and electronic device fundamentals; data-analysis skills using Spotfire, dataPower or STDF-based tools; experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, sourcemeters, power supplies); product engineering experience (yield improvement, test-time reduction); proficiency in programming/scripting (C++, Python, C#).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. The role is designed for new college graduates (Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree).
