Job Title

Career Accelerator Program - Systems Engineer (MS/PhD)

Role Summary

This is an entry-level systems engineering role in the Career Accelerator Program (CAP) focused on industrial high-performance mmWave radar. The role supports customer-facing demonstrations, algorithm development, system validation, documentation, and cross-functional product delivery.

The Systems Engineer will work with customers and internal teams (applications, design, test, marketing, and production) to translate requirements, develop working demonstrations and signal-processing solutions, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and help productize radar ICs.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Career Accelerator Program for MS/PhD). No specific years of professional experience required; position is targeted at recent MS graduates (PhD candidates indicated in program title).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on systems and application support for mmWave radar products and accelerating customer adoption.

  • Act as technical liaison between customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and deliver out-of-box demos.
  • Develop and validate signal-processing algorithms for radar use cases and perform field/bench validation.
  • Perform radar and host-processor bench measurements and provide direct customer support to accelerate customer ramp.
  • Create product collateral such as datasheets, errata, user guides, and technical reference material.
  • Evaluate silicon systems (hardware and software) and related documentation; identify gaps and propose improvements.
  • Gather user requirements, translate to functional specifications, and lead implementation/enhancement projects.
  • Troubleshoot and debug system-level issues across hardware and software stacks.
  • Collaborate with marketing, applications, design, and production test teams to ensure product functionality and datasheet performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities to perform the role.

  • Understanding of RF, analog, mixed-signal and high-speed digital circuits (practical application preferred).
  • Knowledge of radar signal processing and signal chain concepts (mmWave experience preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes.
  • Systems programming experience in C or C++.
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python for signal processing tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to learn new systems quickly and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred (nice-to-have): familiarity with transmission lines, RF matching, power management, cascading/MIMO techniques, and prior radar-specific development experience.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; minimum cumulative GPA 3.0/4.0. The role title references MS/PhD candidates, but the stated minimum requirement is a Master’s degree. No specific certifications listed. Equivalent-experience language not provided.
