Career Accelerator Program - Software Engineer

Role Summary

This is an entry-level software engineering role within Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (TMG Development), a 12-month program for new college graduates. The role focuses on designing and developing application software and tools to automate semiconductor test infrastructure and support engineering teams.

The engineer will work on software architecture and application development, leveraging object-oriented programming, agile practices, and AI/ML techniques, and will collaborate with business partners, factory teams, and IT to deliver robust automation solutions.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” targeted at recent college graduates (new graduates participating in a 12-month development program). No prior years of professional experience required beyond internships or academic projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, testing, and deploying software automation that supports semiconductor test operations and engineering workflows.

  • Partner with business units, factory, and IT teams to design, develop, and deploy automation applications for test infrastructure.
  • Design and develop AI/ML tools and models to improve operational efficiency.
  • Write and maintain object-oriented software (C++/Java) and development tools.
  • Develop unit and system test cases and ensure software quality.
  • Work in an agile development environment and participate in the full software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver new capabilities.
  • Drive for robust, cost-effective solutions and resolve technical or process barriers with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Proficiency in C++ or Java and solid object-oriented programming practices.
  • Must-have: Experience with LLM/ML models and tools.
  • Must-have: Ability to develop unit and system tests and work within an agile development process.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with build/release automation servers (e.g., Jenkins) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of electronic devices/circuits and semiconductor test flows/infrastructure.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication, time management, teamwork, and initiative.

Education Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0. Position is designed for recent college graduates (12-month Career Accelerator Program).
