Career Accelerator Program - Digital Design & DV Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level digital IC design and design-verification role within Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (CAP). The position focuses on architecting, designing, modeling and verifying digital circuits and processor subsystems to meet performance, power, cost and schedule targets.

The engineer will collaborate with system engineers, product teams and test engineers to drive designs from specification through prototype characterization and product release.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–3 years). Role is designed for recent graduates participating in a one-year Career Accelerator Program that provides technical and professional training.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Architect, define and design digital circuits and processor subsystems (including 64-bit DSP processor, MMU, multicore shared memory/cache systems)
  • Model and verify digital designs; develop behavioral models and contribute to verification plans
  • Analyze architecture trade-offs to meet performance, power, cost and schedule constraints
  • Participate in design reviews and produce required design and product documentation
  • Coordinate prototype characterization and develop test specifications with test/product engineering
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on design specifications

Requirements

  • Strong foundational knowledge of digital design and verification concepts
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and apply them on the job
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in teams
  • Initiative and results orientation with good time-management to meet project deadlines
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to CPU simulator development, ISA architecture, multicore verification

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field. Cumulative GPA 3.0/4.0 or higher.
