Camera Frontend Implementation Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Camera Frontend Implementation Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's Spectra Camera team to implement camera IP cores for Snapdragon SoCs. The role focuses on front-end implementation from RTL integration through netlist delivery and close collaboration with physical design teams for tape-outs and QoR improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting specifies degree-dependent experience: Bachelor's +2+ years ASIC-related experience, Master's +1+ year, or PhD.
Responsibilities
Work on implementation infrastructure and deliver Camera cores from RTL to netlist while improving flows and supporting tape-outs.
- Manage RTL-to-GDSII implementation flow including synthesis, STA, formal checks, physical design hand-off, and ECO generation/verification.
- Perform RTL synthesis using physically-aware tools and support multi-corner low-power synthesis flows.
- Run static timing analysis and develop constraints at block and SoC level to meet timing targets.
- Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes in collaboration with physical design teams.
- Perform RTL-to-netlist and netlist-to-netlist verification (formal and low-power verification).
- Identify and implement flow and process improvements to improve QoR (performance, power, area).
- Develop and maintain automation and scripts to support synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; degrees summarized separately below.
- Practical experience with ASIC implementation flows and RTL integration (synthesis, STA, ECO).
- Experience with formal verification and low-power verification methodologies and checks.
- Familiarity working with physical design teams on timing closure and ECOs for tape-outs.
- Strong scripting skills to automate flows and support analysis/debug (e.g., Python, TCL, or similar).
- Understanding of challenges in advanced deep sub-micron technologies and QoR optimization (performance, power, area).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 1+ year of ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
