Job Title

Camera Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and productize camera firmware for Qualcomm chipsets used in mobile, XR, and automotive projects. Work on embedded firmware for ISP hardware running on DSP processors, prototype end-to-end use cases with firmware test benches, and collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and customer engineering teams through design, bring-up, validation, and commercialization.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Implement, verify, optimize, and support camera firmware across development stages and customer integration.

  • Design and implement embedded firmware for ISP and related processors using C/C++.
  • Prototype and verify end-to-end camera use cases with firmware test benches.
  • Optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, and memory usage.
  • Support hardware bring-up, system integration, and debugging of camera/multimedia issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, software, hardware) during design, validation, and commercialization.
  • Interface with customer engineering teams to stabilize and adapt solutions to OEM requirements.

Requirements

Core skills and experience required.

Must-have:

  • 1–3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in C and C++; multithreading and RTOS/OS concepts.
  • Experience developing firmware for embedded processors/microcontrollers.
  • Understanding of image processing or computer vision fundamentals.
  • Experience with camera/video hardware pipelines and optimizing firmware for performance, power, and memory.
  • Strong debugging and system-level problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Device driver development experience and familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience on Q6 processors.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
