CAD RTL/DV Infrastructure Engineer, Staff
Role Summary
Join the Qualcomm Oryon CPU team to maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure for RTL/DV/DFT design and verification workflows. The role partners with RTL, DV, DFT teams and global stakeholders to automate verification flows and ensure scalable, reliable infrastructure.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical qualifications in this posting: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, or PhD +2 years of relevant hardware engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include operating and enhancing verification infrastructure, automation, and cross-team collaboration.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD infrastructure for CPU design and verification workflows.
- Partner with RTL, DV, and DFT teams to optimize verification flows and methodologies.
- Drive automation and continuous-improvement initiatives across the CPU team.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment, scalability, and reliability of infrastructure.
- Work with EDA tool vendors to report bugs and resolve tool-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in design and verification environments and job scheduling systems.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred for successful performance in this role.

Must-have:
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
- Strong Python and shell scripting skills.
- Hands-on experience with LSF (Load Sharing Facility) or equivalent job-scheduling systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles, infrastructure management, and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving and cross-team communication skills.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- Experience with RTL design in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Understanding of CPU microarchitecture concepts and verification methodologies.
- Experience with Perforce for source control.
- Experience creating or maintaining Splunk dashboards for monitoring and analytics.
Education Requirements
Degree required: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with corresponding experience: Bachelor's +4 years, Master's +3 years, or PhD +2 years of relevant hardware engineering or related work experience. Equivalent practical experience is accepted where stated.
