Job Title
CAD-DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's Chip Methodology & Automation (CMA) team to develop and maintain DFT methodologies, flows, automation, and reference solutions for Arm-based SoCs. The role works across IP, architecture, CAD, product engineering, customers, and EDA partners to deliver production-ready DFT solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and time-to-market.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Minimum 3+ years of industry experience in DFT implementation, methodology development, and flow integration for complex SoCs.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include designing, integrating, and automating DFT flows and driving technical alignment across teams.
- Develop and maintain DFT methodologies, flows, automation, and reference solutions for Arm-based SoCs.
- Integrate DFT into end-to-end RTL-to-GDS and silicon enablement flows.
- Collaborate with architecture, implementation, CAD, product engineering, customers, and ecosystem partners for deployment and enablement.
- Evaluate and enable new capabilities with EDA vendors and technology partners.
- Lead technical reviews, resolve complex integration challenges, and drive methodology improvements.
- Guide engineers and contribute to the DFT and automation roadmap within CMA.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful candidates, with a short list of preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: 3+ years of industry experience in DFT implementation, methodology development, and flow integration for complex SoCs.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of scan, compression, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, JTAG/IEEE 1149.x, IEEE 1687, and hierarchical DFT methodologies.
- Must-have: Experience integrating DFT into implementation, verification, and signoff flows and hands-on use of industry-standard DFT EDA tools.
- Must-have: Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Shell, or similar) and excellent debugging and communication skills.
- Must-have: Proven ability to influence technical direction across cross-functional teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with advanced-node SoC development and chiplet or multi-die architectures.
- Nice-to-have: Experience developing CAD, methodology, or automation infrastructure.
