Job Title

BT Design Verification Senior Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the QCT Bangalore Wireless R&D Bluetooth hardware verification team responsible for pre-silicon verification of ASICs for mobile, wearable and IoT products. Work covers verification planning, testbench architecture, test development, RTL debug and verification closure using simulation, emulation and formal techniques.

Experience Level

Senior level. Typical experience preferred: 3–6 years in design verification; hiring may consider candidates with shorter industry experience depending on degree and background.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of IP/block/sub-system verification and collaboration across design, system, SoC, validation and firmware teams.

  • Define verification strategy and develop verification plans for Bluetooth HW blocks.
  • Design and maintain SV/UVM testbenches and Verification IP integrations.
  • Create constraint-random tests, assertions and functional/coverage-driven tests.
  • Debug RTL and testbench failures using tools such as Verdi; perform root-cause analysis.
  • Use simulation, emulation, gate-level simulation and formal methods to achieve verification closure.
  • Estimate effort, perform feasibility studies, and mitigate technical risks for new features.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review verification deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience needed to perform the role.

  • 3–6 years of hands-on design verification experience working with ASIC/VLSI designs.
  • Strong knowledge of HDLs: SystemVerilog and Verilog.
  • Proven experience developing constraint-random tests and building/maintaining SV/UVM environments.
  • Experience with functional verification, code/functional coverage and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
  • Proficient debugging skills with waveform tools such as Verdi or equivalent; strong analytical and independent problem-solving ability.
  • Experience integrating VIPs and performing SoC-level verification activities.
  • Good written and verbal communication; able to write clear test plans and technical reports.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to Bluetooth/BLE hardware architecture and related protocols.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl) and familiarity with formal checks, emulation flows or GLS.

Education Requirements

Qualifications listed include: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related engineering field with ~2+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in a related field with ~1+ year experience; OR PhD in a related field. A separate entry also references a Bachelor’s in Electronics/VLSI/Communications with at least 6 months VLSI verification experience. (Degrees and specific year thresholds were taken from the posting.)
