BootROM & Firmware Developer
Role Summary
Develop and validate BootROM and low-level firmware that implement FPGA configuration and device security features. Work within the US BootROM & Firmware team to design, implement, and test firmware across emulator and silicon platforms and collaborate with hardware and validation engineers to resolve system-level issues.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires 5+ years of relevant firmware/C or C++ development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Review hardware and product specifications and produce firmware design specifications.
- Implement configuration and security firmware features using C and C++.
- Develop unit and system tests to verify firmware functionality.
- Validate firmware flows on emulators and FPGA silicon.
- Collaborate with hardware and validation engineers to co-debug complex system-level issues.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical requirements:

Must-have: 5+ years of C/C++ programming experience and practical firmware development for system-level features.

Must-have: Experience writing unit and system tests and validating on emulator or hardware platforms.

Must-have: Ability to collaborate with hardware and validation teams for joint debugging.

Must-have: Eligibility for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice-to-have: Proficiency with assembly and debugging tools.

Nice-to-have: Experience with RTOS and device driver development.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
