Board Validation & Automation Lead
Role Summary
Lead development of board validation infrastructure and automation frameworks for next-generation evaluation and production platforms. Own validation infrastructure, test-suite development, execution methodologies, and release readiness while managing a small engineering team.
Experience Level
Senior β 12+ years of experience in board validation, platform validation, embedded systems, or system test automation.
Responsibilities
Execute and improve board validation processes, automation, and release activities across hardware and software stacks.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable board validation infrastructure and automation frameworks for bring-up and production validation.
- Design and implement user interfaces, workflow tools, dashboards, and execution management systems for test configuration and control.
- Develop reusable automated test suites for board interfaces and peripherals (control, high-speed, multimedia).
- Perform board bring-up, functional and interoperability testing, stress testing, and production readiness qualification.
- Collect and analyze results; build automated reporting and validation analytics.
- Perform cross-layer root-cause analysis across hardware, firmware, drivers, and application software.
- Drive validation process improvements, automation initiatives, and release signoff readiness.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a small team across multiple board programs and releases; ensure cross-functional alignment with design, firmware, software, and product teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership abilities.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in board/platform validation, embedded systems, or test automation.
- Expert-level Python programming; strong C programming skills.
- Strong Linux application development experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining validation automation frameworks and building workflow tools.
- Experience with automated report generation and validation analytics.
- Strong board bring-up and hardware debug skills; excellent debugging across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Familiarity with FPGA-based development platforms and Vivado tools.
- Proven ability to lead and drive execution across cross-functional teams and multiple releases.
- Preferred: lab automation systems, Board Management Controllers and firmware, manufacturing/production validation environments, CI/CD and large-scale validation infrastructure.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (as listed in the posting).
