Role Summary
Senior engineering leader responsible for managing a bench characterization team supporting new product development for complex SoCs. The role balances people leadership and hands-on technical contribution, coordinating with design, SW/FW, product/test, program management, and customer teams to deliver characterization results that support project goals.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 10+ years of experience in semiconductor characterization, bench measurements, or related engineering roles, with demonstrated leadership or readiness for people management.
Responsibilities
Accountable for silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization activities and for delivering validated, correlated data to stakeholders.
- Lead silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization for complex SoCs across functionality, performance, power, and reliability.
- Manage and develop a team of validation engineers and lab technicians; communicate progress, risks, and priorities to engineering leadership.
- Define validation plans and drive execution; lead debug and root-cause analysis in collaboration with Design, Product Engineering, DFT, and Test teams.
- Oversee characterization of analog, mixed-signal, and RF subsystems and IPs across product lines.
- Specify and code bench test plans and design bench characterization board/socket hardware addressing parasitics, stack-up, grounding, shielding, and power integrity.
- Develop and deploy automated validation and data-analysis solutions (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent); drive correlation between simulation, bench results, and ATE production test data.
- Own lab infrastructure including equipment planning, calibration, safety, and operational excellence.
- Prepare and review characterization reports for stakeholder review; support qualification, customer engagements, and production release activities.
