Job Title

Bench Test Engineer

Role Summary

The Bench Test Engineer will develop and execute post-silicon test and characterization methodologies for high-speed interfaces and memory subsystems on advanced SoCs. The role focuses on silicon bring-up, electrical compliance, parametric analysis across process/voltage/temperature, and driving root-cause debug to closure across cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level (1–3+ years of relevant experience). Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve bench characterization, automation, and cross-team debugging for DDR and other high-speed interfaces.

  • Define and execute test methodologies and characterize LP-DDR & PC-DDR subsystem components (DRAM, DRAM controller, mixed-signal PHY, IO circuits, clocking, termination, power delivery).
  • Develop and run characterization plans for high-speed IPs to optimize design parameters and validate electrical compliance; lead first-silicon bring-up and debug for foundry-fabricated designs.
  • Perform parametric analysis across process, voltage and temperature (PVT) corners and configurations; identify and drive root-cause failure analysis to closure.
  • Develop and automate test scripts, measurement procedures, and data processing flows to accelerate evaluation and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Contribute to guard-banding strategies and characterization sign-off to support manufacturing readiness.
  • Assist in hardware-level debugging of power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI) issues related to package and board design.
  • Collaborate closely with IC Design, Systems Engineering, Customer Engineering, and Hardware Applications teams to resolve customer issues and RMAs under time constraints.

Requirements

Core technical skills and work habits required or strongly preferred for success in this role.

  • Must-have: Experience with Python or C# for test automation and scripting.
  • Must-have: Hands-on debugging and data-driven analysis skills; ability to drive issues to closure across teams.
  • Must-have: ASIC device-level characterization experience or demonstrable experience with high-speed interface testing (eye diagrams, differential signaling, jitter analysis).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with DDR2/3/4/5 and LPDDR protocols, IO timing, and device specifications.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, TDR/VNA, J-BERT) and power measurement tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Background in board design concepts (schematic review, layout best practices), power integrity and signal integrity analysis.
  • Other: Strong verbal and written communication, documentation skills, organization, and the ability to meet project deadlines while working independently.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field is preferred. The posting also notes fresh graduates are welcome and indicates 1–3+ years of experience as typical.
