BAW Research & Development Intern

Role Summary

Internship position within Qorvo's Global Operations, BAW Research & Development team. The intern will support RF filter and multiplexer development through topology analysis, layout realization, simulation, and competitor performance extraction.

This is a hands-on internship intended to provide practical experience in RF filter design and measurement.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Open to students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program; no prior years-of-experience required beyond relevant coursework or project experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities for the internship include:

• Perform topology analysis to improve target filter designs.
• Realize filter layouts using BAW technology.
• Implement laminate and full-module simulations.
• Extract topologies for filters and multiplexer networks from competitor parts.
• Fit competitor performance from measurements to extract filter parameters.

Requirements

Essential and desired technical skills for successful candidates.

• Must have coursework or practical experience in RF/microwave circuit design.
• Experience with electromagnetic/RF simulation tools (for example HFSS, ADS, AWR).
• Familiarity with RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
• Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Nice-to-have: experience with filter design, impedance matching, or RF packaging.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
