Backend STA Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the BE Integration team supporting development of a next-generation high-performance microprocessor (P-Core). The role focuses on static timing analysis (STA), design integration, and optimization to meet silicon performance targets.
Work closely with design, validation, and customer-facing teams to converge timing, power, and area objectives and improve physical design methodology and automation. On-site presence in Haifa, Israel is required.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career — requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant STA and APR experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on STA and integration work to ensure silicon meets performance and project goals.
- Perform and support Static Timing Analysis (STA) to validate timing closure and silicon readiness; act as section integration owner (SIO) where assigned.
- Participate in design convergence and optimization for power, frequency, and area.
- Coordinate with design, validation, and external partners to gather requirements and improve deliverables.
- Contribute to physical design methodology improvements and automation of flows.
- Support silicon development and product ramp-up activities through analysis and integration tasks.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for practical execution of the role; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with STA tools (e.g., PrimeTime) and APR tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys).
- Must-have: Basic understanding of timing concepts and digital design principles.
- Must-have: Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Must-have: Proactive problem-solving, ability to learn independently, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must-have: Strong English language skills for daily communication and documentation.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI tools for scripting.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
