Role Summary
Functional validation engineer responsible for leading SoC validation, FPGA prototyping, hardware emulation, and post-silicon bring-up for application-specific MCUs. Works within the MCU organization on platforms targeting data-center and emerging intelligent-systems markets.
This role emphasizes hands-on laboratory validation, board-level hardware development, and cross-functional debugging to ensure silicon meets product requirements.
Experience Level
Mid-level — recommended minimum 4+ years of experience in semiconductor validation and prototyping.
Responsibilities
The engineer will plan and execute validation activities across pre- and post-silicon stages and drive improvements to validation flows.
- Own and lead SoC validation strategy, FPGA prototyping, and emulation efforts.
- Develop and execute post-silicon bring-up, functional validation, and characterization across voltage/temperature corners.
- Design and develop complex validation boards, custom FPGA prototyping boards, reference platforms, and test fixtures.
- Perform cross-functional debug with Test, Software/ROM, Application Engineering, and Analog teams using lab equipment and FPGA/emulation traces.
- Run hardware design and board schematic reviews and enforce post-silicon and FPGA readiness gates.
- Improve validation methodologies and automation; collaborate with EDA and instrument vendors to upgrade tools and flows.

Must-have: 4+ years experience in semiconductor validation, FPGA prototyping, or hardware emulation.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with FPGA prototyping workflows and platforms (Xilinx/AMD, Intel).

Must-have: Experience with hardware emulation platforms (for example, Palladium) and FPGA-to-emulation flows.

Must-have: Strong board-level hardware knowledge, high-speed signal integrity awareness, and use of lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Must-have: Proven experience in silicon bring-up, functional validation, and root-cause debug.

Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with EDA/instrument vendors and familiarity with FPGA synthesis/mapping tools and automation frameworks.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or closely related technical field) is listed as the expected qualification.
