Automotive Infotainment and ADAS Hardware Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Work on a Customer Engineering team enabling Qualcomm automotive IVI/ADAS SoC platforms. Serve as the primary hardware technical interface to strategic customers (OEMs and Tier1s) to drive adoption from design through bring-up, validation, and production.
Collaborate with internal design, systems, validation, firmware, and product teams and with external partners across PDN, thermal, SI/PI, and firmware disciplines to resolve hardware and interface issues and ensure platform reliability.

Responsibilities
Primary technical and customer-facing responsibilities include:
- Provide hardware support for strategic customers adopting Qualcomm Automotive SoCs (OEMs and Tier1s).
- Act as the main technical interface during design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases.
- Review customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans.
- Validate and debug SoC interfaces including DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, software, validation, and product teams to resolve issues and incorporate customer feedback.
- Identify gaps and propose practical mitigations for customer and internal designs.
- Support reference platform usage and platform implementation guides for customer designs.
- Produce technical documentation, training, and onboarding material for customer enablement.
Requirements
Required skills and experience (must-have vs nice-to-have):
- Must-have: Several years of hands-on hardware applications or hardware design experience; experience supporting customer hardware teams and driving designs to production (see Education Requirements for specific years).
- Must-have: Practical experience reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, thermal and PDN approaches, and performing system bring-up and debug.
- Must-have: Experience validating and debugging high-speed SoC interfaces (examples: DDR, PCIe, CXL, Ethernet).
- Must-have: Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional internal teams and external customers; ability to deliver technical documentation and training.
- Nice-to-have: Automotive platform design or customer-facing automotive experience.
- Nice-to-have: PDN design, SI/PI simulation and debug, EMI/EMC mitigation experience.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with bring-up and debug tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Nice-to-have: Demonstrated leadership, ability to influence internal teams, and independently manage customer engagements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is listed in the source.
