Role Summary
As a Staff Engineer on the Digital DesignWare IP team in Bengaluru, you will lead functional safety efforts for automotive IP, ensuring ASIL compliance across architecture, design, and verification. The role partners with system architects, verification, software and QA to define safety requirements and deliver safety artifacts.

Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Lead functional-safety analysis (e.g., ISO 26262) for digital IP and define safety concepts and requirements.
- Specify and review architectural and RTL designs to meet safety goals and ASIL targets.
- Develop or review safety mechanisms, failure mode analyses (FMEA/FMEDA), and safety case artifacts.
- Work with verification teams to define and oversee safety-focused verification and validation plans.
- Coordinate with system architects, software, and QA teams to ensure integration of safety requirements.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on safety and reliability topics.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Experience in automotive functional safety processes and standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Background in digital ASIC/SoC IP design, RTL, and verification methodologies.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional safety activities and produce safety artifacts.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with DesignWare IP or other semiconductor IP products.
- Familiarity with safety analysis tools, UVM/SystemVerilog, and scripting (Python, TCL).
- Knowledge of related safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) or automotive domain experience.
