Role Summary

As an Automotive and Robotics SoC Architect you will define top-down system architectures that integrate Tenstorrent's CPU and AI technologies for automotive-grade and robotics applications. The role owns architectural direction for performance, safety, reliability, and security and requires cross-functional technical leadership across hardware, software, verification, and product teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define scalable, top-down SoC architectures that integrate CPU and AI subsystems for automotive and robotics use cases.
  • Set architectural direction to meet performance, safety, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Lead system-level trade studies, partitioning, and design decisions across compute, interconnect, memory, and accelerators.
  • Drive hardware/software co-design and co-verification strategies and coordinate system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, verification, and product teams to translate requirements into implementation plans.
  • Engage with external partners, suppliers, and customers on system integration, requirements, and validation.
  • Contribute to safety and security analyses and compliance efforts.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.

  • Extensive experience designing complex SoCs and systems; experience in automotive applications preferred.
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
  • Experience with hardware/software co-design and co-verification.
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards (for example ISO 26262) and security principles.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
  • Strong systems thinking, technical leadership, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with camera, sensor, and automotive system integration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as listed in the posting).
