Job Title
ATE Test Engineer (Test Engineer 3)
Role Summary
Lead test engineering for significant product areas or technology platforms, developing test strategies, architectures, and advanced test solutions to validate semiconductor devices and improve yield.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams, mentor engineers, and drive test technology, optimization, and quality initiatives in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Experience Level
Mid-level (mid-career) — 5–7 years of progressive semiconductor test engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in test development and optimization.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and executing test strategies, developing complex test programs, optimizing test performance, and leading yield and quality efforts.
- Develop and implement test strategies, architectures, methodologies, and coverage objectives for major product lines.
- Lead development of complex test programs, algorithms, and measurement techniques for advanced semiconductor devices.
- Optimize test performance to reduce test time, improve throughput, and balance coverage, quality, and cost.
- Drive test technology implementation and innovation; create roadmaps for test platforms and infrastructure.
- Lead yield analysis, defect detection/prevention strategies, and test-driven quality improvements.
- Provide cross-functional leadership, technical mentoring, and represent test engineering in technical reviews.
- Approve test specifications and make decisions on test methodologies and resource allocation.
- Travel as required (approximately 10–20%) between test facilities, manufacturing sites, and customer locations.
Requirements
Core technical skills, experience, and capabilities required for the role.
- 5–7 years of semiconductor test engineering experience, including leading test development and optimization projects.
- Expert knowledge of semiconductor test principles, parametric testing, failure mechanisms, and device physics.
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE), test program languages, and test equipment capabilities.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, design of experiments, test optimization, and yield improvement techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, and project leadership skills.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, product qualification, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with test data management, analytics, predictive modeling, and advanced test data analysis methods.
Education Requirements
