Job Title

ATE Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's test engineering team to develop and bring up automated test equipment (ATE) programs for GPU, Tegra, and Automotive products and support transfer to volume manufacturing. The role focuses on test program development, production test methodology, failure debug, and collaborating with product, DFT, and design teams to improve yield and test efficiency.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career β€” typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience in IC design, application testing, or ATE testing.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include building, validating, and maintaining production test programs and working with cross-functional and manufacturing teams to improve test quality and capacity.

  • Define, develop, implement, and support ATE test program bring-up, characterization, and production for GPU/Tegra/Automotive products.
  • Develop and integrate timings, levels, patterns, test methods, and test flows into ATE programs.
  • Debug and characterize test failures; collaborate with Product Development, DFT, and IC design to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Own and improve production test methodologies to raise yield, coverage, and efficiency.
  • Analyze LB schematics and board design to aid debug and validation.
  • Write and maintain scripts and tools to improve test engineering productivity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in IC design, application testing, or ATE testing of VLSI.
  • Hands-on experience with Advantest 93K ATE platform (SmarTest 8) is essential.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
  • Understanding of DFT insertion techniques such as SCAN, ATPG, MBIST, and IOBIST.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with active thermal management and product engineering tasks (yield analysis, vmin/fmax characterization, defect analysis).
  • Teradyne UFlex experience.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to improve engineering efficiency.
  • Prior experience working with overseas manufacturing teams and production transfer.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
