Job Title

ATE Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop scalable ATE test solutions on the Advantest V93000 platform using SmartTest 8, tester APIs, and custom code. Own development, debug, datalogging, and optimization of test content for NPI and production to ensure devices are characterized, efficiently tested, and ready for high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior - 10+ years of experience in ATE test development, semiconductor test engineering, or post-silicon validation.

Responsibilities

Engineered ownership of ATE test content from NPI bring-up through production release, including test development, optimization, and support for characterization and manufacturing.

  • Develop and maintain modular ATE test programs and measurement libraries on Advantest V93000 (SmartTest 8) for NPI and production.
  • Implement and optimize parametric, functional, scan, BIST, and system-level test flows using tester APIs and custom measurement sequences.
  • Debug ATE failures and support product engineering with characterization, Vmin/Fmax extraction, guard-band definition, and production limits.
  • Correlate ATE results to bench, SLT, and validation hardware; isolate root causes across silicon, instrumentation, and methodology.
  • Build robust datalogging and automation solutions; improve test time, multisite efficiency, measurement stability, and regression testing.
  • Support yield analysis, failure triage, and continuous improvement for high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.

  • 10+ years of experience in ATE test development, semiconductor test engineering, or post-silicon validation.
  • Proficiency with Advantest V93000, SmartTest 8, tester APIs, and scripting/automation in Python; experience with C++ or Java.
  • Practical understanding of ATE instrumentation: DPS, PMU, RF/HSIO, timing sets, multisite execution, and tester-to-DUT behavior.
  • Experience designing controlled experiments, root-cause isolation, and cross-domain debug in semiconductor test environments.
  • Experience building datalogging, automation, and test optimization for production test floors.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Vmin/Fmax extraction, guard-band definition, yield learning, and production correlation for high-performance AI/compute silicon.
  • Experience with NPI bring-up workflows and scaling test content to high-volume manufacturing.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
