ATE Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and validate automated test equipment (ATE) test programs and flows for ASIC products using Advantest and ExaScale platforms. Work with cross-functional teams to support failure analysis, qualification testing, and deployment of test methodologies that meet performance and power requirements.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of relevant experience (hands-on ATE test development and debugging).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing test programs and methods, diagnosing failures at ATE, and supporting qualification and R&D test activities.
- Develop test flows, test methods and validate test programs on ATE platforms.
- Create characterization test programs and diagnostic screens for RMA and failure isolation.
- Drive R&D and deploy innovative structural and functional test methodologies.
- Support qualification testing, failure verification, and specification searches.
- Perform electrical and thermal root-cause analysis of ATE issues.
- Test parts, analyze results, and present technical reports to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with test-hardware and cross-functional teams to understand chip behavior on ATE.
- Execute extreme-temperature testing and volume-data analysis to correlate failures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest and/or Teradyne tester platforms; experience with Advantest 93K and ExaScale is valued.
- Experience with SmarTest (SmarTest7/SmarTest8) operating environments.
- Proven ability to independently develop complex test programs and flows addressing performance and power specs.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for failure mechanisms observed at ATE.
- Programming experience required for test method development.
- Proficiency in volume data analysis and the use of data-analysis tools/languages to correlate failures.
- Experience working with test-hardware teams and understanding hardware contributions to chip behavior on ATE.
- Experience with extreme-temperature ATE testing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering is specified; the role also requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
