Associate Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Hands-on validation engineer based in Bristol working with a semiconductor design group to test and validate high-speed devices, modules, and optical components. The role focuses on developing test approaches, building validation hardware/software, executing measurements, and producing validation reports.
Work is laboratory-centered and collaborative: you will learn test automation (Python/LabVIEW), high-speed measurement techniques, and signal-integrity considerations while contributing to product qualification.
Experience Level
Entry-level β recent graduates. 0β2 years' relevant experience expected.
Responsibilities
Support product validation from test planning through execution and reporting. Key duties include:
- Support design meetings and define test approaches for new products
- Build validation solutions covering test hardware, software, and documentation
- Select, set up, and use bench-top test equipment for high-speed measurements
- Develop test automation using Python or LabVIEW
- Perform hands-on testing of high-speed optical components, ICs, and modules at 10 Gbit/s and above
- Take high-speed lab measurements and contribute signal-integrity analysis
- Participate in validation review meetings and produce clear validation reports
- Collaborate with designers, product, test, and applications engineers
- Learn schematic entry/layout and PCB tools (Altium) as required

Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EE/ECE) or a closely related discipline. The role is aimed at recent graduates and specifies approximately 0β2 years of relevant experience.
