Associate Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Hands-on validation engineer in a Bristol-based semiconductor R&D team. The role focuses on testing and validating high-speed optical components, ICs, and modules and supporting new-product validation from test planning through reporting.
Work closely with designers, product and test engineers to develop test approaches, build validation solutions (hardware, software, documentation), and perform high-speed laboratory measurements at 10 Gbit/s and above.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Graduate. Suitable for recent graduates with approximately 0β2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Contribute to validation planning, execution, and reporting for high-speed semiconductor products.
- Support design meetings and help develop test approaches for new products.
- Assist in building validation solutions: test hardware, software, and documentation.
- Select and set up bench-top test equipment for validation tasks.
- Develop test automation using Python or LabVIEW.
- Collaborate with designers, product, test, and applications engineers.
- Participate in validation review meetings and present findings.
- Produce clear, accurate validation reports.
- Perform hands-on testing and high-speed lab measurements at β₯10 Gbit/s.
- Gain exposure to high-speed signal integrity and schematic/layout work using Altium.

Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (EE/ECE) or a closely related discipline.
