Associate Test Engineer (ASD)

Role Summary

The Associate Test Engineer performs setup, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role contributes to test development, executes validation and troubleshooting activities, documents results, and recommends corrective actions.

The position works within a test/production engineering team supporting equipment-level and system-level validation in a controlled (cleanroom) environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Candidates with 0–3 years of relevant experience are preferred; the posting notes 1–3 years is advantageous while some minimum-experience lines reference 2–4 years.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include hands-on testing, problem diagnosis, and reporting to support product and equipment readiness.

  • Set up, calibrate, test and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
  • Determine and develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
  • Test and troubleshoot assemblies and final systems; perform rework when required.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommended solutions.
  • Assist in selection and setup of specialized test equipment.
  • Work independently on complex assignments and may supervise the activities of other nonexempt personnel.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, working conditions and soft skills needed to perform the role.

  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Able to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to read complex drawings and use mathematics, handbook formulas, and precision testing and measuring instruments.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical problems, set up experiments, and perform data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

Diploma or Technical School qualification is expected: Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Precision Engineering or related technical fields is specified. Entry-level diploma candidates are welcomed. The posting also accepts equivalent practical/work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
