Job Title

Associate Test Engineer

Role Summary

Support development, implementation, and optimization of test solutions across product development and manufacturing. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate product performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure products meet functional, quality, and reliability requirements.

Hands-on role contributing to test methodologies, diagnostic programs, test fixtures, and validation procedures for a variety of electronic products.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Typical experience: 0–2 years in test, validation, product, or related engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Design, execute, and maintain tests and validation procedures to verify product functionality, performance, and reliability.

  • Design and implement test methodologies, test cases, and validation approaches.
  • Develop and run diagnostic test programs to identify defects and performance issues.
  • Design, build, and support test fixtures, evaluation hardware, and test equipment.
  • Document and maintain test procedures, specifications, and validation records.
  • Troubleshoot system-, equipment-, and product-level technical issues using analytical techniques.
  • Support qualification, characterization, and reliability testing throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with design, product, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to increase testing efficiency and product quality.
  • Travel as required for the role (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities required to perform the role.

  • Understanding of test engineering principles, validation methodologies, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate technical issues and produce solutions.
  • Ability to develop and execute structured test procedures and evaluate results against requirements.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing and measurement equipment through coursework, projects, internships, or work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with test automation, diagnostic testing, or product validation activities.
  • Familiarity with test fixture development, evaluation boards, PCB debugging, or hardware bring-up.
  • Exposure to programming or scripting for test development.
  • Experience with qualification, reliability testing, root cause analysis, or quality systems.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Internship, research, or project experience in test engineering, validation, or electronics design is relevant and valued.
