Associate / Technical Lead, Software Test Automation

Role Summary

Responsible for planning and executing software testing for Windows applications using a mix of manual and automated methods. The role sits within KLA Advanced Computing Labs (ACL) in Chennai and focuses on building test frameworks and scripts to validate product functionality and quality.

The role participates in the end-to-end product lifecycle, including requirements review, test design, defect reproduction, and deployment support across remote and onsite environments.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and perform manual and automated testing for Windows desktop/applications.
• Design, develop and maintain test frameworks and automated test scripts using C#/.NET and Python.
• Create test cases using sound test engineering principles and verify feature behavior against requirements.
• Participate in end-to-end product development activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies.
• Work with systems engineers, research scientists, algorithm teams, field support, and customer applications engineers on requirements, testing, and deployment support.
• Reproduce and troubleshoot defects reported from the field and support resolution and verification.
• Apply test engineering best practices to improve product quality, including testing of AI/ML components where applicable.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Hands-on experience with manual and automated software testing for Windows desktop applications.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python for developing test frameworks and automation scripts.
• Experience building and maintaining test frameworks and writing reliable automated tests.
• Strong test engineering skills: test-case design, defect analysis, and verification.
• Experience collaborating with distributed, cross-functional teams and providing deployment/support where needed.
• Ability to reproduce field-reported defects and work with engineers to resolve issues.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience applying test engineering practices to AI/ML systems.

Education Requirements

Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of related work experience, or Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. No specific fields of study or certifications are listed.
