Job Title

Associate RF Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the RF Semiconductors team in Wilmington, MA to support development of RF products including beamformers, up/down converters, detectors, switches, attenuators, filters and amplifiers. The role focuses on circuit design support, simulation, verification and silicon characterization within a product-development team.

This is an early-career position working under moderate guidance and contributing to short-term projects while building RF design skills.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Associate (early-career). Works with moderate guidance and has most basic job functions mastered while developing deeper RF expertise.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design support, evaluation, and documentation for RF integrated circuits and modules.

  • Provide transistor-level circuit design support and implementation for RF blocks under guidance.
  • Support design evaluation and silicon characterization, execute measurements and analyze results with direction from senior engineers.
  • Contribute to design and development across processes and packaging technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues following defined procedures.
  • Prepare documentation and technical reports for product development.
  • Participate in team meetings, communicate technical updates clearly, and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Continuously build skills in RF design, simulation, and verification through on-the-job development.

Requirements

Technical skills and tools expected for the role.

  • Must-have: Understanding of S-parameters, transmission-line theory, and RF networks.
  • Must-have: Ability to design, simulate, and verify circuit performance at transistor and behavioral/architectural levels.
  • Must-have: Experience using circuit-design environments such as Cadence and ADS.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with electromagnetic simulators (EMPro, HFSS).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with RF test equipment and silicon/RF characterization.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently received a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
