Associate Engineer, Reliability Lab (12 Hour Shift)

Role Summary

The Associate Engineer in the Reliability Lab executes semiconductor reliability tests and supports laboratory operations to ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance with quality management systems.

Works with engineers and technicians to run qualification and reliability monitoring tests, maintain equipment uptime and calibration, and support audit and safety requirements in a controlled lab environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Associate: typically requires about 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Support and execute reliability test programs, maintain lab operations, and deliver accurate test data and reports.

  • Execute reliability test plans (qualification, process reliability monitoring, engineering evaluations).
  • Prepare test samples, set up and operate test equipment, and monitor test conditions for data integrity and traceability.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and test issues with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Support equipment calibration, maintenance, and uptime management.
  • Collect, analyze, and verify reliability test data; prepare concise reports.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS and lab standards, and support internal/external audits by preparing documentation and records.
  • Maintain lab safety, ESD controls, and housekeeping standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve lab efficiency, cycle time, and process robustness.
  • Work the required 12-hour day shift (4-3-3-4) schedule.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills for reliable lab operation and testing.

  • Minimum ~2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in a semiconductor reliability or testing laboratory is required.
  • Strong understanding of reliability test concepts and semiconductor processes.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and standards such as ISO 17025, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting lab equipment.
  • Basic data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to follow safety, ESD, and documented lab procedures; support audits and recordkeeping.
  • Willingness and ability to work the specified shift pattern.
  • Preferred: exposure to reliability stress tests (HCI, TDDB, BTI), measurement system analysis (MSA), or lab accreditation processes.

Education Requirements

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. (Source lists diploma-level technical education as the formal requirement.)
