Role Summary

The Associate Product Engineer on the Engineering Services β€” Cost Improvement Team supports product cost reduction and yield-improvement initiatives for manufacturing. The role assists with yield analysis, product characterization, qualification, test-program enhancements, and manufacturing process improvements.

The position works cross-functionally with Product, Test, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to identify and execute actions that improve yield, reduce cost, and optimize test throughput.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship, co-op, research, or project experience in semiconductor engineering is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include data-driven support for yield and cost initiatives and execution of assigned engineering tasks.

  • Collect and analyze yield, test performance, and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in product characterization, validation, and correlation for new products and product changes.
  • Support qualification activities for new materials, process changes, test hardware upgrades, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations and failure analysis for yield, quality, and customer issues.
  • Support test program optimization, including test-time reduction and throughput improvements.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for technical reviews and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Test Product Engineering, Test Development, Quality, Operations, and Planning to execute projects and action items.
  • Track project actions and deliverables; participate in continuous improvement projects focused on yield, cost, and capacity.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes required to perform the role.

  • Basic knowledge of electronics fundamentals, circuit analysis, and semiconductor devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work with engineering and manufacturing data.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn semiconductor test, characterization, qualification, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to track project actions to completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Nice to have: internship, co-op, research, or project experience in semiconductor engineering.

Education Requirements

Graduate of a bachelors degree program such as BS Electronics Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship, co-op, research, or project experience is considered advantageous.
