Role Summary
Entry-level hardware engineering role on SoC teams working across modem, multimedia, connectivity, computer vision and image processing. The engineer will develop and validate RTL and embedded software, support hardware acceleration and subsystem integration, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver silicon and firmware features.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and maintain RTL and embedded software for SoC subsystems.
- Perform detailed technical analysis and translate ideas into models, software and/or hardware implementations.
- Verify and validate SoC designs, including work with embedded RISC/DSP processors and ASICs.
- Debug silicon, board-level and FPGA prototypes; support SOC validation and bring-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, verification, software, layout) to integrate features into products.
- Contribute to design reviews, documentation and test plans.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes (must-have vs. nice-to-have):
- Must-have: RTL design experience and/or strong object-oriented programming skills; experience with Verilog or VHDL.
- Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with scripting (Tcl, Perl or shell).
- Must-have: Experience or coursework in verifying SoC designs and working with embedded processors (RISC/DSP).
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in teams; good verbal and written communication.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of wireless/wired communications protocols or graphics/video multimedia processing.
- Role-specific (RF/Analog/Mixed-Signal): familiarity with PLL, LNA, OpAmp, CMOS, ADC/DAC, Cadence and SpectreRF or layout tools is valuable for RF/analog tracks.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering or related technical discipline.
