Job Title

Associate Engineer, Equipment Engineering

Role Summary

Work as a Test Systems Engineer responsible for operation, repair, maintenance, upgrades, and calibration of complex test systems in the GTC Cavite manufacturing/test environment.

Support test system performance, yield and capacity improvements, equipment qualification, and training of technicians.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include maintaining and improving test equipment and supporting production objectives.

  • Operate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade, and calibrate complex test systems and peripherals.
  • Support installation, qualification, acceptance, and evaluation of new test systems and instruments.
  • Analyze test system issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support cost reduction, yield improvement, efficiency, and capacity projects for sort/test processes.
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA, GRR, quality and production issue investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Apply standard problem-solving tools (8D, Six Sigma, PDCA/DMAIC, SPC) where appropriate.
  • Train and mentor technicians to perform technical tasks independently.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and operational expectations; education details are listed under Education Requirements.

  • Familiarity with test system architecture: hardware, software, and operating systems (DOS/Windows/Unix).
  • Experience with test peripherals such as load boards and contactor boards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Willingness and ability to support operations outside normal hours when needed.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with SPC, Six Sigma tools, and formal problem-solving methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) or an equivalent engineering degree; the role targets fresh graduates and those with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
