Job Title
Associate Engineer, DEG Layout
Role Summary
Member of the DPG-IPDEV layout team responsible for developing analog and mixed-signal IP blocks used in DRAM products. The role focuses on custom/analog layout implementation, verification, and block-level integration to meet project schedules and quality targets.
Work with global engineering teams across multiple projects to deliver layouts for high-performance applications such as AI, HPC, and High Bandwidth Memory.
Experience Level
Entry-level (1β3 years of relevant experience)
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include block-level layout development, verification, and cross-team coordination.
- Design and develop analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital block layouts and support full-chip integration.
- Perform physical verification tasks (LVS/DRC/Antenna) and quality checks; produce supporting documentation.
- Deliver block-level layouts on schedule with required quality metrics.
- Estimate area/time, plan execution, and manage multiple project commitments.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with global engineering teams to ensure layout project success.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; brief list of additional desirable qualifications.
-
Must-have: 1β3 years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes (Planar, FinFET).
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre (DRC/LVS).
-
Must-have: Proven experience creating layouts for critical analog blocks (e.g., PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, charge pump, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers, temperature sensors, reference generators).
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of analog layout fundamentals (matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling/crosstalk, IR-drop, parasitics) and how layout affects speed, capacitance, power, and area.
-
Must-have: Strong problem-solving skills in physical verification of custom layouts and ability to follow design constraints and hierarchy.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience supporting multiple tape-outs and proactive use of AI-related tools to improve productivity.
Education Requirements
BE or MTech in Electronics / VLSI Engineering.
