Associate Digital Engineer (Functional Safety)
Role Summary
Responsible for producing functional-safety work products and performing safety analyses to support achieving ASIL B/C/D per ISO 26262 for RCAR products. The role focuses on FMEDA, SRS, cDFA, OTP/eFUSE analysis, traceability, metrics, and safety documentation.
Works within a manufacturing/product engineering team to collect FuSa inputs, maintain coverage/mapping, and create CAR libraries and other safety artifacts.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Suitable for fresh graduates or engineers with limited professional experience; no specific years of prior experience required.
Responsibilities
Key tasks and deliverables for this role:
- Create concept FMEDA work products and static FMEDA CAR library entries.
- Perform Pin-FMEDA, cDFA, OTP & eFUSE analyses and document results.
- Prepare SRS documents, SRS lists, and FuSa block diagrams.
- Collect FuSa items: TS, DCLS checklists, signal analyses, layout instructions, SRAM/ROM information, and verification lists.
- Calculate safety metrics, elements mapping, and coverage; verify traceability across artifacts.
- Maintain safety documentation and ensure consistency with RCAR product requirements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Strong logical thinking and analytical ability.
- Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Practical experience with Excel and VBA macro programming.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts.
- SC-AFSP certificate.
- Experience with RCAR product development flow.
Education Requirements
Undergraduate or fresh graduate in Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical field. SC-AFSP certificate listed as a plus. Equivalent practical experience in relevant domains is acceptable.
