Associate Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Contribute to verification of digital, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits prior to tape-out. Work with experienced engineers to develop testbenches, execute verification plans, analyze simulation results, and support coverage-driven verification activities.
This role provides hands-on experience with modern verification methodologies, industry-standard tools, and cross-functional collaboration in semiconductor product development.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Associate). Typical experience: 0β2 years; new graduates with relevant projects or internships encouraged.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include executing verification tasks across digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Develop and execute SystemVerilog testbenches for digital and mixed-signal verification.
- Create and maintain verification environments for functional and coverage-driven verification.
- Develop directed and constrained-random test cases to validate functionality and performance.
- Perform code and functional coverage analysis to assess verification completeness.
- Debug simulation failures, analyze results, and identify potential design issues.
- Collaborate with design engineers to verify implementation against requirements.
- Support verification planning, documentation, and design reviews.
- Automate verification workflows using scripting to improve efficiency.
- Contribute to mixed-signal verification activities, including simulation and behavioral modeling as needed.
- Travel as required for the role (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behaviors for immediate contributors.
- SystemVerilog and digital verification concepts, including testbench development and simulation-based verification.
- Verilog RTL fundamentals and the ability to analyze digital hardware designs.
- Familiarity with coverage-driven verification concepts and structured verification practices.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, or Tcl) for automation and productivity improvements.
- Understanding of standard digital interfaces/protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for simulation and verification failures.
- Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to UVM, SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), constrained-random verification.
- Familiarity with EDA simulation and debugging tools, mixed-signal simulation, or analog behavioral modeling.
- Object-oriented programming concepts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred; new graduates with relevant academic projects or internships are encouraged. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where noted.
