Associate Backend Engineer

Role Summary

Work within the Embedded Processing (DFT) or High-Performance Computing (Physical Design) teams to perform backend engineering tasks for MCU/MPU, IP, CPU and full-chip projects.

Primary focus areas include design-for-test implementation and improvement, tester pattern creation and debugging, SDC (timing) constraint design, physical synthesis, place & route, and timing closure to meet tapeout schedules.

Experience Level

Entry-level — suitable for fresh graduates and early-career engineers (approximately 0–2 years).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary by assigned group (DFT or Physical Design).

• Implement and improve DFT for MPU/MCU products: increase test coverage, design SDC timing constraints, and support verification.
• Create and debug tester patterns and assist with tester integration.
• Perform physical design tasks: physical synthesis, place & route, timing closure, and timing/physical verification for IP, CPU, and chip designs.
• Collaborate closely with front-end and back-end teams to meet project schedules and deliverables.
• Document technical work and communicate issues clearly in English.

Requirements

Core skills and attributes expected for applicants.

• Good English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Knowledge or experience in HW FE/BE design (logic architecture, clock architecture, TPI) is desirable.
• Familiarity with EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Tessent, etc.) is an advantage.
• Logical thinking, professional behavior, and a mature, serious work attitude.
• Strong interest in chip design and a willingness to commit long-term.

Education Requirements

Undergraduate / Bachelor's degree preferred; fresh graduates are eligible. Relevant fields: Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics.
