Associate Applications Engineer – Hardware Assisted Verification

Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role in a structured 12-month Associate Applications Engineer training program focused on hardware-assisted verification for ASICs and FPGAs. The program provides hands-on experience with product support, sales engineering, and technical marketing and prepares participants for roles such as Field Applications Support Engineer, Field Applications Engineer, or Product Engineer.

Entry-level. Targeted to recent or upcoming graduates (early-career).

Responsibilities

The role combines customer-facing technical support, hands-on verification work, and on-the-job training. Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in a structured 12-month training program to develop verification and customer-support skills.
  • Work with customers to apply verification and emulation tools to complex hardware and software systems.
  • Develop and execute testbenches, verification flows, and simulations for ASIC/FPGA designs.
  • Collaborate with product, support, and technical marketing teams to solve customer problems and validate solutions.
  • Advance into field or product engineering roles upon successful program completion.
  • Travel to customer sites as required and be willing to relocate within the USA after training.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, attributes, and experience for immediate contribution and successful completion of the training program:

  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python and coursework/project experience demonstrating coding ability.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Coursework or hands-on experience with HDL-based RTL, digital logic design, verification languages, and functional verification methodology for ASICs and/or FPGAs.
  • Familiarity with FPGA usage, testbench architecture, verification methodology, and simulation in SystemVerilog/Verilog.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective written and interpersonal communication.
  • Willingness to travel as needed; willingness to relocate within the USA upon program completion (may not be required for all positions).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Position is targeted at newer college graduates (graduation window June 2025 – June 2026).
