Associate Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on analog and mixed-signal IC design for Semtech's Signal Integrity Products group, focused on high-speed (>200 Gbps) CMOS and BiCMOS circuits used in optical and electrical networks. The role involves circuit design, simulation, lab evaluation and collaboration with cross-functional teams to take products from concept to manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, documentation, and lab evaluation of high-speed analog mixed-signal ICs.
- Design and simulate high-speed analog mixed-signal IC products from concept through manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new designs and support existing products.
- Capture and share simulation results, measurements and design methodologies.
- Prepare technical reviews, design documentation and reports.
- Perform lab evaluation of high-speed analog circuits and equipment.
- Plan work, track progress and report technical status.

Must-have: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; thorough understanding of analog circuit theory, transmission lines and device fundamentals.

Must-have: Design experience in high-speed CMOS and/or BiCMOS and familiarity with high-speed/RF design and layout concepts, device models and parasitics.

Must-have: Experience with analog CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso or equivalent.

Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice-to-have: Knowledge of RF modelling, Matlab or system modelling tools.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-speed components (VCOs, PLLs, wide-band amplifiers, data converters).

Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment (spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes) and scripting languages such as Python.
Education Requirements
BASc in Electrical or Computer Engineering with significant IC design content. Relevant IC design work experience is preferred.
