Assistant Engineer
Role Summary
Support development and qualification of Die Bond and Wire Bond assembly processes for new product introductions at Vishay Semiconductor Malaysia in Krubong, Melaka. Work within R&D/engineering to plan and run experiments, analyze process data, and qualify equipment.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career - minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Support development and optimization of Die Bond and Wire Bond assembly processes for NPI.
- Plan and execute engineering builds, Design of Experiments (DOE), and process characterization activities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret engineering data from process trials and qualifications.
- Prepare technical reports, qualification summaries, and presentations.
- Support evaluation and qualification of new Die Bond and Wire Bond equipment.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in semiconductor assembly or related environment.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor assembly and packaging processes.
- Familiarity with Die Bond and Wire Bond processes, statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common data analysis tools.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Education Requirements
Diploma in Engineering (examples listed: Semiconductor Technology, Microelectronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering) or a Diploma in Science as relevant to semiconductor assembly and packaging.
